It is typically used to extend the system to remote locations. Each RXM chassis must include a set of RXM modules, including three identical modules, extending the Tricon controller I/O bus and providing ground loop isolation. The distance between the RXM chassis and the main box cannot exceed 30 meters (100 feet). From this main RXM chassis, the RXM chassis and remote RXM devices can be located 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) away from the main chassis, and the RXM chassis and remote SRXM devices can be located 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) away from the main chassis.
