The General Electric Fanuc/VMIC VMIACC-5595 Gb/s Reflective Memory Hub component is a management hub designed to run alongside the General Electric Fanuc/VMIC 5565 series of reflective memory real-time network products. When the reflective memory hub detects a signal loss or loss of effective synchronization mode, it can automatically bypass the port, allowing other nodes in the network to remain operational. Due to the fact that fiber optic ports are implemented through Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers, only the required ports need to be installed. The VMIACC-5595 SFP transceiver can be a combination of multi mode (short range) or single mode (long range) transceivers. This feature allows for cost savings and system optimization in small networks. For larger networks, several VMIACC 5595 components can be cascaded, allowing for a management hub array of up to 256 nodes. Each port regenerates serial optical signals, eliminating issues of insertion loss and cable attenuation. Signal regeneration also reduces jitter. The RS232 port provides the ability to monitor reflective memory networks through a simple PC serial port.
