The IC698CHS009 is manufactured by GE Automation and Control and is a front or rear rack chassis with nine module slots. This rack can accommodate various RX7i and 90-70 series modules and CPUs. Each module connector on the rack backplane is spaced 0.8 inches or 20.3 millimeters apart, and each slot can accommodate a single width module. Double width modules occupy two rack backplane slots each. Slot zero on the backplane is reserved for power supply, and slot one is used for the programmable logic controller CPU. The remaining backplane slots can be used for various single or double width combinations. The IC698CHS009 has the following features and functions: slot sensing for input/output modules, allowing module addressing without the need for DIP switches or jumpers; Automatic daisy chain for interrupt confirmation and bus authorization signals, without the need for slot jumpers; J2 connector, with a speed of up to 64 bits per cycle; RX7i power compatibility; Compatibility with cooling fans. For 90-70 series modules and equipment, the grounding clamp will come into contact with the conductive rail during installation. For safe grounding, please use AWG # 698 wire to connect the stud installed on the side of IC009CHS12 to ground. To reduce the impact of electromagnetic interference (EMI), please ensure that the power supply is securely installed. Use AWG # 12 wire with ring terminals and star washers to connect the GND terminals on the power supply to the terminals on both sides of the rack, and connect the GND terminals on the rack to ground.
