The 3500 series rack can contain one or two power supplies

The GE/Bentley Nevada 3500/15 series power supply is a half height module that must be installed in a specially designed slot on the left side of the rack. A 3500 rack can contain one or two power supplies (any combination of AC and/or DC), and either power supply can power the entire rack. If installed, the second power supply will be used as a backup for the main power supply. When two power supplies are installed in the rack, the power supply in the lower slot serves as the main power supply, and the power supply in the upper slot serves as the backup power supply. As long as a second power supply is installed, removing or inserting any power module will not interrupt the operation of the rack.
The 3500 power supply can accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them into voltages that other 3500 modules can accept. The 3500 series mechanical protection system offers three power supply versions, as follows: 1 AC power supply, 2. High voltage DC power supply, 3. Low voltage DC power supply.
