MVI56E-MCM is a Modbus master/slave enhanced network interface module designed specifically for ControlLogix devices. The MVI56E-MCM can achieve master and/or slave connections between the ControlLogix processor and Modbus RTU/ASCII devices. This module has backward compatibility functionality, making it compatible with older MVI56 modules. This allows for direct module replacement without changing the existing controller program. The MVI56E-MCM has a database of 10000 words, which can collect more data from other devices, thereby improving operational performance. This feature of the MVI56E-MCM module also allows users to fully utilize the enhanced functionality and flexibility without incurring expensive reprogramming costs. The MVI56E-MCM module acts as an input/output module on the ControlLogix backplane to display Modbus data as I/O data for the processor. It also has cross detection function.
The current backplane load of the MVI56E-MCM is 800 mA at 5 V DC and 3 mA at 24 V DC. The operating temperature range of MVI56E-MCM is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius or 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and the storage temperature range is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius or -40 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. The MVI56E-MCM can withstand up to 30G working shock, 50G non working shock, and 5G vibration from 10 to 150 Hz. The recommended relative humidity range for the module is 5% to 95% (non condensing). Due to its conformal coating, the module can also withstand harsh or harsh conditions. The MVI56E-MCM module has a 10/100 MB Ethernet port that allows for network configuration and diagnosis using automatic cables. It also supports RIUP (removal and insertion under power). The 4-character, scrolling, and alphanumeric LCD of the module displays status and diagnostic data in English. The MVI56E-MCM can run on local or remote racks.
