The I/A series migration strategy replaces the WDPF distributed processing unit (DPU) with the IA series control processor/FCM, and provides a card for replacing I/O modules, but retains the original process interface wiring and cabinets. The new 1/A series system DCS FBMs are directly inserted into the existing Q. Flat noodles, replacing the Westinghouse I/O Q-card. Remove the Q-card from the Q Flat noodles and remove its terminal assembly. Each unit is replaced by the corresponding/a series system DCS FBM. The original I/O card terminal device installed on the front of the I/O card can be reused. Reconnect the original terminal components (including undisturbed process wiring connections) to the new DCS FBM. Alternatively, edge connectors can be used for cables terminated on-site in remote I/O subsystems or adjacent expansion cabinets. All I/O wiring connected to the I/O card terminal device remains in place.
This provides raw/O functionality for process input and output.
DCS FBMs measure and test the output signals and digital I/O signals of the I/A series control processor through the process. The I/O of the subsystem is connected to the control strategy using standard/A series I/O blocks. All process signals are fully integrated into the I/A series system, allowing direct monitoring of the process by the A series system. The following I/A series control processors can be implemented: 4 on-site control processor 270 (FCP270), 4 Z module control processor 270 (ZCP270), 4 control processor 60 (CP60). FCP270 provides direct connection between DCS FBMs and 2 Mbps fieldbus. ZCP270 requires redundant FCM100Et or FCM100E modules to communicate with DCS FBMs. CP60 requires redundant WFCM10E or WFCM10Ef modules to communicate with DCS FBMs.
