IC697MDL653 is a part of the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) series. This module was previously manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, but has recently been acquired by Emerson Automation. It has high-density input channels, especially thirty-two (32) discrete input channels, divided into four (4) groups of eight (8) channels each, providing group isolation. This module is designed to operate within the input voltage range of -3 to+3 VDC, with a rated voltage of 24 VDV, an input current of 10 mA at 24 VDC, and a typical input impedance of 2.6 KOhm. The IC697MDL653 has a conduction voltage and current of 13.5 V to 30 V and 6 mA to 15 mA. On the contrary, the voltage and current in the off state are 0 V to 5 V and 0 to 2 mA respectively (with a minimum value of 2 mA at 5 V input). The input delay time of each input channel of this module is 1 ms or 10 ms, which can be configured through software. This module draws a current of 300 mA from the 5VDC bus and is designed to comply with VME standard C.1. The module is isolated from a single channel of the backplane at 1500 V, and the inter group isolation is 500 VDC. The IC697MDL653 supports positive and negative logical wiring. Due to the fact that each input group is equipped with dedicated common terminals, the wiring configuration at the group level may vary. When using negative logic, the positive terminal is connected to the common terminal, and the negative terminal transmits the voltage signal to the input channel.
