The IC697ALG320 is an advanced analog output module for the 90-70 series programmable logic controllers (PLCs), previously manufactured by GE Fanuc instead of Emerson Automation. This module is designed to occupy a single slot of a 5-slot or 10-slot substrate and draw a maximum current of 1.66A (8.3 W) from the backplane at 5VDC, and 150 mA from the user power supply to achieve current output. The IC697ALG320 comes with four (4) separately configured output channels specifically designed to generate voltage and current outputs, namely 0-20 mA/4-20 mA current output signals and -10VDC/+10 VDC voltage output signals. It is equipped with a built-in digital to analog converter (DAC) circuit, with a resolution of 16 bits and monotonicity. The voltage is 312.5 microvolts per LSB step, and 0.5 microamperes per LSB step at 4 to 20 mA. For all analog output channels, the maximum sequential conversion rate is 2.0 ms. This module is calibrated using calibration data stored with the module's EEPROM at the factory. It also has a continuous short-circuit function, which will not cause harm. Once the fault is resolved, the output will automatically return to normal state. The analog output load specifications include a minimum of 2000 ms for resistive loads and a maximum of 1000 pfarads for capacitive loads (configured for voltage operation). For current operation, the output load specification of resistive load can reach up to 700 ohms; The maximum capacitive load is 1.0 microfarad, and the maximum inductive load is 250 milliHenry.
