IGCT在GTO体内引入缓冲层,并将GTO与门极控制电路集成在一起,具有许多优点,如高可靠性、高开关速度、低损耗和低驱动电流等。因此,IGCT被广泛应用于高压直流输电(HVDC)、灵活交流输电系统(FACTS)和电机控制等领域。

Integrated gate-commutated Thyristor (GTO) is a high-performance power electronics device that combines the benefits of Gate Commutated Thyristor (GTO) and Integrated Gate driver. When the device needs to be turned off, a reverse voltage or current is applied through the gate, so that the charge balance within the device is broken, thus achieving a fast shutdown.
At present, only a few companies in the world, such as Switzerland's ABB, Japan's Mitsubishi and China CSR, produce and develop IGCT products. With the continuous development of power electronics technology, IGCT will be applied in more fields and contribute to the intelligent and efficient power system.
